Development and Test Kitchens

Our Food Innovation Centre is home to five purpose built product development kitchens, available for flexible short-term hire by food and drink businesses. As approved premises, the kitchens meet the latest environmental health legislation and allow businesses of any size, from start-ups to large enterprises to scale-up production, introduce new lines, produce short runs, and pilot product improvements. 

The development kitchens have been built to food-grade standard and include standard catering equipment as well as specialist items linked to bakery, dairy, ready meal and drinks development.

Hiring these kitchens includes training on all equipment plus consumables such as cling film, bin bags, cleaning equipment and PPE. Customers are required to clean kitchens after use. All the customer needs to bring is ingredients and packaging.
